Rip off Britain!

Mood: Well Miffed!
Listening to: Basement Jax - Kish Kash
Reading:
Watching: Stargate

Yesterday, the postal service tried to deliver my Blythe. The note which informed me of this also stated that I had to pay a further £25!

This is a custom and excise charge and is the first time this has happened to me and I have been buying from around the world for years.

I have since been informed, off the record that due to the pound being so strong and in particular against the US Dollar that customs are cracking down because the UK Government is concerned that too much revenue is leaving the country, in particular the US as goods are already much cheaper over there then in the UK. Mostly this is music and DVD's, but customs is cracking down on all items coming in that are outside the EC.

Although I can not confirm this 100% to be true, I do have a very reliable source and given that I have been buying for years and that this is only happening now it does make you wonder given the way the UK government treats us in the UK. No wonder they call us 'Rip off Britain'!

My advise -and one that I will be taking myself- is to buy up a stock pile of dollars (1GBP - 1.82USD) wait for the government to get over there silly games and for the dollar to get back on track, then buy again with your stockpile of dollars!

Apparently many UK residents are already doing this who already know they are having a Holiday in the US this year and are buying them up whilst the pound is so strong!

Mood: Tired
Listening to: Basement Jax - Kish Kash

Found a great outfit for my Blythe (Lili-Rose VM) in Pondland of all places! Its an ESPRIT set and fits her just fine.

I also made her a floppy summer hat and it looks pretty cool.

PayPal Hell!

Mood: Impatient
Listening to: Goldfrapp - Black Cherry
Reading:
Watching: Charmed (Series Six)

Went to pay for my eBay wins, in particular my two Blythes and PayPal is down till 3:30am PDT/10:30am GMT! Bummer!
The sooner I pay the sooner my girls will be with me. Was so peeved as got up early just for that reason. Oh well will have to wait

Will be posting pics of them when they arrive.

Man I hate waiting. Its bad enough when your bidding and you have to wait till the auction is over and hope your the winning bidder, than you wait again for it to arrive. The faster technology gets the more I hate to wait. At least it gives me time to make them some new clothes while I am waiting for them to arrive. Might go into town and get some material...

Pow Wow Poncho

Mood: Cheerful
Listening to: Kylie - Body Language
Reading: The Vampire Watchers Handbook
Watching: Miss Match

I have got myself a Blythe Pow Wow Poncho  for the bargin price of £37.94!
I will also soon have Blythe Superior Skate Date! Managed to get her fo £64.11 which I think is pretty good considering how hard she is to get now, in fact she is the only one on ebay and has sold out everywhere else. I have been told that she was a shop only limited edition so feel very lucky to have got her.

The only other Blythes I want now is Rouge Noir and Asian Butterfly, then I'm set :)
I have now also joined a very cool community;
Blythe Kenner Its very cool with some great clothes patterns for Blythe. Can't wait to make some of them ready for the arrival of PWP & SSD!

Does anybody else have some patterns they could share with me?
I am also making patterns from the outfits I have been making. My fave so far is a Fairy outfit I have been making and am now making the wings.

I am amazed at all the fans out there and even more amazed by how helpful and friendly they all are. Blythe rules!

This is Blythe

Mood: Invisible / Ignored Tired
Listening to: Kylie - Standing Still
Reading: The Vampire Watchers Handbook
Watching: Charmed

So this site now only proves that I have reached the point of obsession with regard to Blythe.

I bought my first one a about a month back (VM) and was scared that I paid a small fortune for her. Now I have two I am bidding on at eBay (SSD & PWP) and one I am looking to buy from a private seller (RN).

I don't even want to go into the figures of how much I am spending on them. The thing is I already have a Volks Dollfie Doll I also have to pay for out this pay check. Looks like very little food will be bought this month!

If you think that's bad I even bought a sewing machine to make custom clothes for her! Admittedly, you can do a lot more with a sewing machine then just Blythe clothing, but it was my main reason for buying it. No wonder I haven't got any savings left.
Are all Blythe fans this obsessed?
